Thankfully for the Bardon community, things with regard to the proposed mobile phone facility appear to be heading in the right direction with a solution that most of us believe we can live with. In other communities around the country, though, similar fights continue.

Council snubs mobile phone tower plans

There was a fiery and personal debate last night as the Bendigo council rejected plans for a new mobile phone tower in the city.

The council voted five-to-four to reject Telstra's application to build the tower next to the Brennan Park swimming pool in Kennington....

TINY tots took to the streets of Summer Hill (Sydney) on Friday to protest against a mobile phone tower being built beside their childcare centre...
“The research all points to the fact that children are particularly at risk given their nervous systems and brains are still developing,” she said. “Summer Hill has many commercial and light industrial areas which we would suggest are much more suited to mobile phone towers.”
